About the Miramichi Region

The Miramichi Region covers a large geographic area in the north-eastern half of New Brunswick and represents a very culturally diverse community. The Miramichi Region is also home to three of New Brunswick’s Indigenous communities.

There are more than 35 communities in the Miramichi Region, including: Baie-Sainte-Anne, Blackville, Esgenoôpetitj (Burnt Church) First Nation, Neguac, Metepenagiag (Red Bank) First Nation, Miramichi, Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) First Nation, and Rogersville.

There are community health centres servicing the area, in addition to Horizon’s Miramichi Regional Hospital. Horizon has six community health centres in the area: Baie-Sainte-Anne Health Centre, Blackville Health Centre, Miramichi Health Centre, Chatham Health Centre and Sexual Health Clinic, Neguac Health Centre, and Rogersville Health Centre.
