Horizon’s Grand Manan Hospital serves the beautiful island of Grand Manan, whose population of 2,500 grows to 5,000 during the summer months.

A nurse practitioner (NP) works with physicians to manage patients with chronic disease and women’s health issues. The NP also provides seniors’ outreach and youth-at-risk outreach services in the community.

Patients arriving at the hospital who require complex investigative services, specialized services (childbirth) or critical care are transferred by ground or air ambulance to the tertiary hospital in Saint John, Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital.
