Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy helps patients restore, maintain and maximize their strength, function, movement, and overall well-being. Physiotherapists use their in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with their hands-on clinical skills, to treat patients of all ages. They provide a variety of health services ranging from immediate care and rehabilitation, disability and disease management, to wellness, health promotion and prevention. Once an initial assessment is completed, treatment goals are mutually agreed upon by you and your physiotherapist.

How to Refer

• Patients can be referred by their primary care provider/surgeon or other specialist for physiotherapy.
• Patients may also self-refer.
• Services that require a prescribed referral or process are noted in the descriptions (i.e., NB-ISAEC requires primary care providers to complete a learning program to have referral privileges).

What to Wear

• It is best to wear comfortable clothing and footwear that allows easy movement.
• And if needed, the physiotherapist should be able to have access to the affected body part or joint (knee, shoulder, ankle, etc.) when you come for your appointment.
