Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital is an acute care community hospital located in the town of Sackville and provides services to the population of Sackville, Dorchester, Port Elgin and surrounding areas, including the thriving student population of Mount Allison University.

Services provided at the hospital include: ambulatory care; dietitian and diabetic education; diagnostic imaging; family medicine; laboratory; palliative care; rehabilitation; speech language pathology; physiotherapy; occupational therapy; and a day surgery program.

The Adult Ambulatory Care unit at Sackville Memorial Hospital provides various services to patients in the Tantramar and Strait Shores region.

Patients can access these services with a referral from their doctor or nurse practitioner.

We currently offer these services by referral:

  • Drain removal
  • Non-complex wound care requiring basic treatment
  • Infusions:
    • Iron
    • Blood products (urgent and non-urgent)
    • IVIG (Immunotherapy)
  • Suture and staple removal
  • Bladder scans
  • Catheter care and education
  • Ear irrigations
  • Injections:
    • B12
    • Testosterone and estrogen for gender affirming care, as well as education for self-administration
    • Allergy injections (soon to be available)
  • ABI (ankle brachial index)
  • PICC and Port-a-Cath access and care
  • Phlebotomy for hemochromatosis
  • Specialist clinics and services:
    • Urology clinic
    • Orthopedic clinic
    • General surgery clinic
    • Minor procedure clinic

Available via the Ambulatory Care Clinic without referral is Sackville Memorial Hospital’s temporary Nurse Practitioner Clinic for residents of Tantramar and Strait Shores. Call 506-364-4248 to book for:

  • Drivers medicals
  • Handicap parking forms
  • Medication refills **Except narcotics
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Routine laboratory testing with follow up
  • Pap tests

In addition to the Ambulatory Care Clinic, and temporary NP Clinic, Sackville Memorial Hospital offers outpatient appointments for Xray and laboratory services which can be selected when booking your appointment. The hospital also provides limited outpatient support for physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Emergency Department: Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (seven days a week)
