Musculoskeletal problems, fractures, and post-operative surgery

Staff at Horizon’s Physiotherapy departments work closely with patients who experience muscle and/or joint pain and/or have had a recent fracture or an orthopedic surgery. Treatment aims to reduce pain, restore movement and strength, and help in the return to pre-injury condition. Treatment goals are mutually agreed upon by you and your assigned physiotherapist and, if you are referred by an orthopedic surgeon, will follow post-fracture or post-surgery guidelines.

• When attending an appointment, be prepared to expose the affected area in a comfortable setting.
• It is best to wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the affected joint (knee, shoulder, ankle, etc.) when you come for your appointment.
• Patients can be referred by their primary care provider/surgeon for physiotherapy treatments. Patients also have the option to self-refer to our department.
