Emergency Departments at Horizon’s regional hospitals are extremely short staffed this weekend and priority will be given to trauma and critical care patients. Patients with non-urgent medical issues may experience long wait times.

Haematology

What is haematology?

Haematology is the medical field that deals with study of blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases.

How are haematology services provided?

At Horizon, we provide specialized care for people in hospital or who come to our clinics and are living with blood diseases, including leukemia. Our haematologists diagnose and clinically manage disorders of the blood and bone marrow. In collaboration with other health care professionals, Horizon haematologists work with patients of all ages and they manage both benign and malignant conditions such as cancers.
