Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit

A multidisciplinary collaboration of government policy-makers, health authority decision-makers, and healthcare researchers in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) supports patient-oriented research under the Canadian Institutes for Health Research’s (CIHR) Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR).

At Horizon, the MSSU team builds on existing research capacity to provide additional expertise in patient-oriented research, training, and in access to administrative health data at the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT). Through this support, the goal is to improve the quality, accessibility and accountability of healthcare by provided evidence for policy and clinical decision-making.
