Women and Children’s Health Program at Upper River Valley Hospital

Labour and birth services will be temporarily unavailable at Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital (URVH), starting at midnight on Sunday, November 17, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

All pregnant individuals who would normally deliver their babies at URVH will need to travel to Horizon’s Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH) in Fredericton. Click here for details.

Welcome to the Women and Children’s Health Program at Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. While some of this information is specific to parents and guardians in the Upper River Valley area of New Brunswick, much of it is relevant to those across the province.

Our highly trained team provides a range of women’s services including prenatal to postpartum care, mom and baby clinics, 48-hours post-discharge, as well as breastfeeding assistance after discharge, with access to lactation consultants if necessary. Children’s services include newborn, and ambulatory clinic services. Our care team consults the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, N.S., as required.
