Dr. Abdel Samad has been the Director of the Oncology Clinical Trials (OCT) at The Moncton Hospital since 2020. He attained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Lebanese University. He then pursued higher training in Medical Oncology and specialization in Haematology from the Claude Bernard-Lyon University in France. Prior to coming to Canada, Dr. Abdel Samad was the Clinical Assistant Chief in Haemato-oncology at various university hospital centers in France. At The Moncton Hospital, Dr. Abdel Samad, has been the past Head of the Division of Oncology-Hematology. In addition to being an Assistant Professor in Internal medicine at Dalhousie University and Memorial University, Dr. Abdel Samad is affiliated and a member of several professional societies. His areas of research interest are in various areas of hematology for which he has published numerous journal articles. When not being the compassionate leader and mentor for the OCT team, Dr. Abdel Samad can be seen cycling for cancer and dabbling in adventure.
