Information regarding Moncton detox unit temporary closure

MONCTON – The inpatient addiction (detox) unit in Moncton (125 Mapleton Rd.) is temporarily unavailable due to an ongoing shortage of available nursing staff. This temporary change was in effect from Monday, July 3.

Important information :

  • Existing clients can contact Moncton detox services from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 506 – 856-2333. All other subsequent calls will be directed to other facilities. 
  • Urgent clients will be redirected to other Horizon inpatient detox locations at Saint John, Miramichi and Fredericton, with priority placed on alcohol patients with a history of seizures, pregnant patients, and benzodiazepine patients with a history of seizures. Transportation can be arranged.
  • Non-urgent priority patients will be given the option to remain on the Moncton waitlist or be referred to an outpatient clinic.
  • The outpatient clinic at 125 Mapleton will remain open for other services (Methadone and Alcohol harm reduction.
