Patient Surgery Tracker

A tool to help families stay updated during their loved one’s surgery

We are pleased to provide patients and their loves ones with a new way to receive updates and stay informed during their surgery. This tool is easy to use, confidential and in real-time.

How to use the patient surgery tracking tool

  1. Select either The Moncton Hospital or Sackville Memorial Hospital.
  2. Enter the patient’s ID number and press “Search” (magnifying glass icon) Note: You would have received this ID from operating room (OR) staff. Please keep this confidential paper with you. You may wish to destroy it when your loved one’s surgery has been completed.
  3. The patient’s current location will appear.
  • With this tool, you can monitor the patient’s progress by using the color legend on the right-hand side. You will also see the patient ID number, surgeon’s name, and the patient’s current location.
  • This data is automatically refreshed every 10 minutes.
  • Important note: Hospital staff and volunteers cannot share the patient ID number with anyone other than the patient or legal guardians/substitute decision maker. It is the patient/guardian’s responsibility to share the code with family/friends on the day of their surgery if they wish to do so.

This is a pilot project at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital (TMH) and Sackville Memorial Hospital (SMH) involving patients who are having planned elective surgeries.

With this innovative patient and family centered solution, families of patients can view their loved one’s surgery status online in
real-time, from any device.
