New partnership to help patients struggling with addictions
July 25, 2022 – A funding partnership will result in $3.8 million going toward upgrades at Ridgewood Addiction Services in Saint John. Learn more.

Horizon Recovery Centre (formerly known as Lonewater Farm) is a provincial early recovery live-in treatment program for adult men who have an addiction to alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling. The newly constructed location opened in Saint John, at Horizon’s Ridgewood campus, in October 2021.

The Horizon Recovery Centre is founded on the principle that every individual has the potential to achieve recovery. The overall goal of the service is to identify recovery goals established by the patient and, through access to programming, treatment, and tools, meet their individualized goals prior to transitioning back to the community.

The facility can accommodate up to 14 clients, in private rooms and offers common spaces for group psycho-educational sessions. On average, clients stay at the Recovery Centre for one to three months. During their stay, they are encouraged to maintain a routine, attend psycho-educational groups daily, and work one-on-one with their primary clinician in order to achieve their individual recovery goals.

The health care team consists of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurses, addiction attendants, social workers, occupational therapists, a psychologist, and a psychiatrist. We work closely with community partners to ensure a seamless transition back into the community.
