Horizon’s Sussex Health Centre Emergency Department to temporarily close early Wednesday, Nov. 27

November 26, 2024

(SUSSEX) – Horizon wishes to advise the public that the Sussex Health Centre (SHC) Emergency Department will be closing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 to allow for necessary upgrades to the facility’s electrical systems.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency during this temporary closure, please proceed to your nearest 24/7 ED or call 911.

This planned maintenance is taking place in the evening and overnight hours to minimize disruption to ED operations.

The ED will reopen under its normal hours of operation – from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. – on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Sussex-area residents are encouraged to access other care options for non-emergency medical needs, such as visiting an after-hours/walk-in clinic, your local pharmacist or calling Tele-Care 811.

More information on these options is available at sowhywait.ca.

If residents are unsure if their medical condition is urgent, please call Tele-Care 811 to discuss the type of medical attention needed.

Horizon regrets any inconvenience this temporary change in service may cause, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we undertake these important upgrades.
