Horizon’s Oromocto Public Hospital Emergency Department temporarily closed Friday, July 8 July 7, 2022 OROMOCTO – The Emergency Department (ED) at Horizon’s Oromocto Public Hospital will be temporarily closed Friday, July 8, due to COVID-related illnesses among staff. The ED will close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 and reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 9. The ED at the OPH is normally open from 8 a.m. to 4p.m., daily. All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at other hospitals and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals.As always, people experiencing a medical emergency should call 911. Additionally, people with non-urgent medical needs can call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they require, or book a virtual appointment through eVisitNB. The OPH ED will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Horizon apologizes for any inconvenience these temporary closures may cause. We are actively working to recruit physicians and nurses to reduce temporary closures and resume services to the communities we serve.
