Horizon’s online self-booking tool for ECG appointments for the Saint John area starts today

Innovative tool will help support patient-centred, data-informed approach to care delivery

(HORIZON) – Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is excited to announce that starting today Saint John-area patients can visit horizonnb.ca/book to book their ECG (electrocardiogram) appointments online.

To book an appointment, patients will need to confirm they have an ECG note, or that it has been faxed to the hospital’s ECG department before proceeding. Health care providers may also use this tool to book their patients’ appointments on their behalf.

This is an expansion of our X-ray and specimen collection online self-booking systems that streamline the booking process for both patients and staff.

“We’re thrilled to expand this easy and modern self-booking tool to include ECG appointments for the Saint John area,” said Margaret Melanson, Horizon’s president and CEO. “This initiative helps us provide a more positive and people-centred care experience by empowering patients and their loved ones to book and access the care they need, when they need it.” 

Appointments will be available Monday through Friday to coincide with the hours of operation of the facility selected when booking online. Patients can call 1-844-398-0220 to book an appointment if they do not have access to an online device. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, patients can click the link in their confirmation email or contact the ECG department at the hospital where they have booked their appointment.

This tool will help reduce the number of missed appointments. Reducing missed appointments will mean a decrease in wait lists and improved access to services for patients, creating a better patient experience. The ECG online self-booking service will be launched in other Horizon areas in early 2026.
