November 15, 2024

(WOODSTOCK, CENTREVILLE, FREDERICTON) – Horizon is hosting free vaccination clinics for the mumps, measles and rubella (MMR) vaccine in Woodstock, Centreville and Fredericton.

The measles virus is one of the most contagious infections known. It is transmitted through the air or by direct contact with nasal or throat secretions of an infected person. Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and the community from measles. Two doses of the MMR vaccine is almost 100 per cent effective at preventing measles infection.

Clinics will be held at:

Horizon’s Public Health Office at 200 King St in Woodstock on

  • Wednesday, November 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Western Valley Multiplex at 698 Central St in Centreville on

  • Wednesday, November 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Horizon’s Public Health office at 300 St. Mary’s St in Fredericton on

  • Thursday, November 21 from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please book your MMR vaccination online or by calling 1-833-437-1424. Vaccination clinic schedules are regularly updated in the online provincial scheduler and members of the public are encouraged to refer to this site to find an appointment. Walk in appointments are also available.

  • Adults born in 1970 or later who have not previously received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine

  • Isolate and contact Tele-Care 811 for direction.
  • If you have measles and need to go to the Emergency Department, please call ahead to reduce the risk of transmission.
