Flu shot clinic set for Horizon’s Grand Manan Hospital Oct. 18

October 13, 2023

GRAND MANAN – Horizon’s Grand Manan Hospital – located at 196 Route 776 – will be hosting a flu shot clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

This one-day-only walk-in clinic is open to the public and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the physiotherapy building located behind the main hospital.

Signs will be in place directing the public to the clinic location. Horizon asks anyone planning to attend to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 and respiratory illness prior to presenting to the clinic.

Those who fail self-screening or who are experiencing symptoms are asked not to attend.

The seasonal influenza vaccine is available free of charge to all New Brunswick residents aged six months and older, and is the most effective way to protect yourself, your family and the public from the risk of infection.

Grand Manan residents unable to attend the upcoming clinic do have other options available to them to receive their flu shot.

These include:

  • Grand Manan Public Health Office, 582 Route 776 – Flu shots are available to children and youth between the ages of six months and 18-years-old. To book an appointment please call 506-662-7024.
  • Grand Isle Drug Store/Guardian Pharmacy, 163 Route 776. Vaccination is available for adults and children over the age of two. Please call 1-506-662-3188 to schedule an appointment.

For more information regarding publicly funded influenza vaccines, please consult with your health care provider or contact your local Public Health Office, or your local pharmacy. Visit Influenza in New Brunswick (gnb.ca) for more information.
