Emergency Department at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital to temporarily close for three days over holidays

(SACKVILLE) – Due a shortage of physician coverage, Horizon wishes to advise the public that the emergency department (ED) at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital (SMH) will be temporarily closed on the following dates:

• Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022
• Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022
• Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023

Emergency care will not be offered on any of these dates, and all patients requiring medical care outside service hours will need to seek treatment at another hospital or by another health care provider.

The ED will be open during regular hours of operation – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – on all other dates.
