Emergency Department at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital closed TODAY

SACKVILLE – Horizon wishes to advise the public that due to a shortage of available staff, the Emergency Department (ED) at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital (SMH) will be temporarily closed on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. The ED will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023.

Emergency care will not be offered during this time, and all patients requiring medical care during this temporary closure will need to seek treatment at another hospital or by another health care provider.

Remember: there are options for receiving non-urgent care – including your primary care provider, pharmacist, after-hours clinics, virtual care or Tele-Care 811. To help choose the best option for your care, visit www.sowhywait.ca. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.
