Laine MacKinley

Physiotherapist

Laine MacKinley graduated in 1998 from Dalhousie University with her degree in Physiotherapy and has been working as a Physiotherapist at Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital for the past 27 years. She also completed training with the Klose Norton School of Lymphedema Therapy in 2003 to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and went on to take the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) exams in 2005 to achieve LANA certification. Currently she enjoys working for Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick as a professional competency’s year two tutor.

Her role at Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital focuses on breast oncology rehabilitation as well as lymphedema treatment and management. She has been a Physiotherapist with Stay Strong since 2019 and a leader for Cancer Related Fatigue by Wellspring at Horizon’s Cancer Support Program Centre since 2023.

Laine enjoys her multi-faceted role as a Physiotherapist in Oncology as it allows her to help patients through various stages of their cancer journey. Along with the connections made with program participants, being able to assist with the rehabilitation, recovery and a return back to daily life for participants, is both professionally and personally rewarding.
