Before joining the Department of Medicine at the Saint John Regional Hospital in 2008, he spent nearly 15 years in North Carolina, where he established a new Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplantation Program at the Brody School of Medicine. He was then recruited to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where he enabled their Stem Cell Transplant Program to become accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT,) which resulted in significant expansion of their Program. He applied that experience to initiate a transplantation program in New Brunswick in 2009. Since then, over 400 people have received stem cell transplants through the New Brunswick Stem Cell Transplantation Program at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
