Interventional Radiology Interventional Radiography (also known as angiography) uses image-guided procedures to identify and treat medical conditions in almost every organ system. It can be done using X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, or MRI images. After making a small incision, an interventional radiologist will guide a thin wire and a catheter (a flexible, narrow tube) through a blood vessel, usually in an artery, to treat the source of the disease internally.
