Patients using SeamlessMD app now have access to reliable, clinician-approved AI support October 22, 2026 Cardiac, surgical, and maternity patients using SeamlessMD can now benefit from an AI feature improving accessibility of information, resources, and support (HORIZON) – Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is offering enhanced support for patients using the SeamlessMD app with the launch of Seamless Answers. The conversational AI feature is available for those who use the app as part of their cardiac, surgical, or maternity care. SeamlessMD provides patients with symptom-checkers, resources, and educational materials in addition to the care they’re receiving from health care providers. With the addition of Seamless Answers, patients can ask questions, such as, “When can I remove my dressing?” or “Is this symptom normal?” and Seamless Answers responds instantly with verified information. “When patients have questions about their care, having access to reliable information is a key component of quality health care,” said Jennifer Sheils, VP Strategy, Transformation and Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). “This new feature allows them to ask questions and get sound information anytime, including outside of normal business hours when they may not be able to contact their care provider or team.” Seamless Answers pulls information exclusively from the education library within SeamlessMD to answer patients’ questions and offer instructions. When a question falls outside the approved content, patients are directed to contact their care team. Seamless Answers is now available for all Horizon programs currently utilizing the SeamlessMD app, with 94 per cent of patients finding it useful so far. “Technology and AI is evolving rapidly, and people increasingly expect it to help make everyday tasks simpler and more accessible, including when it comes to their health care,” said Dr. Joshua Liu, CEO and Co-Founder, SeamlessMD. “Horizon is one of the first organizations meeting that expectation with an AI tool that is safe, appropriate and useful for patients.” Since initially launching in 2023, over 7,700 Horizon patients have signed up for the SeamlessMD app, with work underway to expand its use to other areas of care. Vitalité Health Network has also implemented Seamless Answers, making New Brunswick the first province in Atlantic Canada to offer this feature in all health care regions. – 30 – Media contact: Maggie Estey Media Relations 1-877-499-1899 [email protected] horizonnb.ca/news
