Saint John

Joanne began her career as a Respiratory Therapist with Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation in 1999 and has spent most of her career committed to improving community-based care and complex case management for patients and families living with chronic cardio-respiratory illnesses.  From 2007-2013, Joanne coordinated and co-led various research initiatives and was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the INSPIRED COPD Outreach Program at the QEII HSC in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  The INSPIRED program has been rolled out nationally and was recognized by Accreditation Canada is a “Leading Practice”.  In the years following the scale and spread of INSPIRED, Joanne worked as a Chronic Disease Consultant with the NB Department of Health, had her first experience with industry while working with GSK to launch their new triple therapy for COPD, and then finally as a VP of Research for a private medical device company.

Joanne is now a private healthcare consultant and is on contract with Horizon Health Network (HHN) to advance the Health System Impact Studies portfolio.  She will also work with the HHN team to support the expansion of recruitment into clinical trials, including engaging community partners in an effort to increase decentralization of processes where possible.

Joanne is the proud mom of Reid and Blake who both live and work in the Saint

John area.  She and her husband Kevin live in St. Stephen with their two Labrador Retrievers, Miller and Jaxx.  In her spare time, you can expect to find Joanne at her cabin relaxing with family and friends.
