Horizon hosting measles vaccination clinics in Centreville, Fredericton and Stanley November 6, 2024 (CENTREVILLE/ FREDERICTON/STANLEY) – Horizon is hosting free vaccination clinics for the mumps, measles and rubella (MMR) vaccine in Centreville, Fredericton and Stanley. Measles is highly contagious and spreads through airborne transmission and close contact. Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and the community from measles. Two doses of the MMR vaccine is almost 100 per cent effective at preventing measles infection. Clinics will be held at: Western Valley Multiplex at 698 Central St in Centreville on Friday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Horizon’s Public Health office at 300 St. Mary’s St in Fredericton on Friday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. NEW: Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Stanley Health Centre at 9 Limekiln Rd in Stanley on Friday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-in appointments will be available, but you are encouraged to book your MMR vaccine online or by calling 1-833-437-1424. Who can receive a vaccine: Adults born in 1970 or later who have not previously received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine Children and adolescents who have not received two doses of MMR vaccine after turning 12 months of age Those who are unsure of their vaccination status, or that of their children, are urged to discuss this with their health-care provider.
