Temporary Service Interruptions at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital

(MONCTON) – On Monday, July 13, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m., a necessary power system upgrade will be carried out at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital.

During this time, the hospital will be operating on emergency power and some services will be temporarily affected.

Outpatient blood and specimen collection and the Electrocardiogram (ECG) clinic on-site will be closed (the Moncton Coliseum services will not be affected).

The Skyview Café (the cafeteria on the 6th floor) will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., with limited menu options. Tim Hortons (in the hospital lobby) will be closed.

Patient televisions, vending machines, and ATMs throughout the hospital will also not be operating during this time period.

Patients and clients who had medical appointments or surgeries on this day were notified of any rescheduling. Those who are still uncertain about their medical appointment or surgery on this day are encouraged to contact their health care provider.

Horizon is working with community partners to ensure all patients receive safe and quality care during this time, and thanks the public for their patience, support and cooperation during this major upgrade to the hospital’s generators.
