(MIRAMICHI) – In response to a recent cluster of COVID-19 positive cases in Zone 7, the Miramichi area, Horizon is establishing a temporaryCOVID-19 Testing Clinic for asymptomatic patients only.

This is part of Public Health efforts to ensure as many individuals in the area can receive asymptomatic testing, as a precaution, if they wish.

The temporary clinic has been set up in the Dr. Losier Middle School gymnasium, located at 124 Henderson St. in Miramichi.

No appointments are necessary, and tests will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The clinic will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 5.

Asymptomatic individuals are not required to self-isolate while awaiting the results of their tests, unless advised otherwise by clinic staff or Public Health personnel.

Those with even one symptom of COVID-19, no matter how mild, SHOULD NOT present to this clinic.

Anyone with symptoms of the virus are urged to continue to utilize the online self-assessment tool offered through the Government of New Brunswick or contact Tele-Care 811 to book a test at the nearest COVID-19 assessment centre.
