Temporary Closure of Emergency Department on Saturday at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital August 13, 2021 (SACKVILLE) – Due to a shortage of nurses, the Emergency Department at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital (SMH) will be temporarily closed all day Saturday. The Emergency Department will re-open Sunday, August 15, at 8 a.m. and close for the evening and night shift at 4 p.m. Regular 24-hour emergency services will resume Monday at 8 a.m. until Friday at 4 p.m. The Emergency Department will not be seeing patients and clients during temporary closures and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals. All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital.As always, patients experiencing a medical emergency should call 911. Patients can call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they require.
