Temporary change of service hours at Horizon’s Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Emergency Department July 8, 2021 (PERTH-ANDOVER) – The Emergency Department at Horizon’s Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph (HDSJ) in Perth-Andover will be temporarily changing its hours of service throughout the summer months. The hours of operation for the Emergency Department at Horizon’s Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph will be: Monday to Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. This changeis effective July 9, 2021 through to September. During this period, outside operating hours, all patients and clients requiring medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital, and all ambulances will be diverted. People are encouraged to call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they need. As always, if you have a medical emergency, please call 911. We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change in hours of service may cause. This temporary change in service is due to a nursing shortage. Horizon’s HDSJ has been experiencing critical nursing shortages and recruitment challenges for over a year, despite extensive recruitment efforts to fill vacancies. This temporary change in service was necessary for Horizon to continue offering safe and quality care to our patients and clients in the Perth-Andover area. – 30 – For more information contact: Kris McDavid Media Relations1-877-499-1899media@horizonnb.cahorizonnb.ca/news
