Temporary change of service at Horizon’s Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital

(PERTH-ANDOVER) – Horizon’s Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital (HDSJ) in Perth-Andover will be temporarily converting all inpatient beds to transitional care beds for patients who are waiting for long term care placement.

Because of this temporary change in service, acute care patients will be transferred to Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital.

The Emergency Department at HDSJ will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Palliative care services are available at HDSJ and we will strive to maintain this service. Patients with complex pain management needs may require care in a regional hospital.

This change of service is due to a critical nursing shortages and recruitment challenges for over a year, despite recruitment efforts to fill vacancies.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change in service may cause.

This temporary change in service was necessary for Horizon to continue offering safe and quality care to our patients and clients in the Perth-Andover area.
