Services to continue at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital during COVID-19 outbreak October 8, 2020 (MONCTON) – Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic Horizon has taken measures in our facilities to reduce patient traffic and create a safe and healthy environment for our patients, clients, staff, physicians and communities. As a result, services offered at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital will continue even with the current COVID-19 outbreak occurring in the Moncton area. Some services will be reduced. Horizon will contact all patients and clients if their surgery or outpatient appointment is cancelled and will call those affected to reschedule when the situation allows. If you have a scheduled appointment for surgery, outpatient (ambulatory care) clinics, diagnostic imaging, or blood work at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital, please attend your appointments as you normally would. Please note that services offered at the Moncton Coliseum location will continue. Beginning Oct. 7, visitor restrictions were reintroduced at Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital to ensure the safety of our health care workers and the safety of our patients, clients and communities. There are no visitors allowed. Some exceptions to visitor restrictions are in place for certain patients: ONE healthy designated visitor is permitted for patients in: Critical CareObstetricsPediatricsNeonatalPalliative Care NOTE: TWO healthy designated visitors may be permitted for palliative patients receiving end-of-life care. The two designated visitors cannot attend at the same time. Discharge: ONE healthy individual allowed to pick up discharged patients. For Emergency Departments: ONE support person ONLY for patients requiring assistance.Only ONE person per pediatric patient is allowed. (Parent or caregiver only.)
