Saint John Area COVID-19 Assessment Centre Capacity Increased

(SAINT JOHN) – Horizon has increased capacity for appointments and is completing more COVID-19 tests in the Saint John area (Zone 2) since its return to Orange level.

A second assessment site has been identified to support increased demand for COVID-19 testing. It is being set up at St. James the Less Church, located at 1760 Rothesay Rd. in Rothesay.

Appointments for COVID-19 testing are available by completing an online self-referral or calling Tele-Care 811.

The Saint John COVID-19 Assessment Centre located on Ropewalk Road continues to operate with an additional team and extended hours to increase the number of people who can be tested per day at that site.

The Assessment Centres are prioritizing those who are close contacts, health care workers and people who require a test for a medical procedure. Please be patient as we work diligently to ensure everyone requiring a test is seen.

This increased capacity will allow for more than 500 people to be seen in one day compared to 200 earlier this month.

New Brunswickers displaying even one COVID-19 symptom can complete the online self-referral to be tested: https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/corporate/promo/covid-19.html
