Reopening of Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital Labour and Birth Service November 9, 2021 The Labour and Birth Service at Horizon’s Upper River Valley Hospital (URVH) in Waterville will resume services on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7 a.m. All pregnant individuals in the Upper River Valley area will no longer be required to travel to Horizon’s Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton to deliver their babies. URVH will also continue to provide care for expectant mothers during the pre-and post-natal period. This reopening of the labour and birth service follows a temporary closure in September due to a need to adjust staffing to provide care for COVID-19 patients. Horizon would like to apologize for any confusion the announcement to close the Labour and Birth service may have caused. We remain committed to maintaining this service in the Upper River Valley area. – 30 – For more information contact: Kris McDavid Media Relations 1-877-499-1899 media@horizonnb.ca
