Public reminded of temporary Emergency Department hours at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital February 25, 2022 SACKVILLE – Horizon wishes to remind the public the temporary hours of operation for the Emergency Department (ED) at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital (SMH) which have been in place since November 2021 remain in place. The ED at SMH continues to be open Monday to Sunday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (seven days a week). Horizon remains fully committed to restoring 24/7 ED service in Sackville and we are continuing our efforts to actively recruit physicians and Registered Nurses to the Sackville area. People are encouraged to call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they need. As always, if you have a medical emergency, please call 911. Those with less urgent medical needs should contact their primary care provider. Those without a primary care provider have the option of booking an appointment with a physician or Nurse Practitioner through the eVisitNB virtual care platform, visiting the nearest after-hours clinic or consulting with their pharmacist. – 30 –
