New Temporary Service Hours at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital Emergency Department

Effective Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, the hours of operation for the Emergency Department at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital will be:

  • Monday to Sunday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (seven days a week)

Emergency care will not be offered during the evening or night, and all patients and clients requiring medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital.

People are encouraged to call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they need. As always, if you have a medical emergency, please call 911.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change in hours of service may cause. This temporary change in service was necessary for Horizon to continue offering safe and quality care to our patients and clients.

This temporary change in service hours is due to a physician and nursing shortage. The emergency department at Horizon’s Sackville Memorial Hospital has been faced with staff shortages in the past which has led to frequent coverage issues.

Horizon is committed to keeping the Sackville Memorial Hospital open and continues to actively recruit physicians and RNs to the Sackville area.
