Change of Evening Service Hours at Horizon’s Oromocto Public Hospital Emergency Department June 21, 2021 (OROMOCTO) – The Emergency Department (ED) at Horizon’s Oromocto Public Hospital will be temporarily changing its evening hours of service effective June 22. The Emergency Department will temporarily close each day at 4 p.m., and resume regular day time services at 8 a.m. Until now, the ED was open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily. These temporary closures will remain in place until we are able to recruit an adequate number of health care professionals to work in this department. The ED will not be seeing patients and clients during this closure and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals. All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital. Patients can call Tele-Care 811 if they have any questions about the type of medical attention they need. As always, patients who have a medical emergency should call 911. Horizon is committed to ensuring safe and quality care for our patients and clients, and we apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. – 30 – For more information contact: Kris McDavidMedia Relations1-877-499-1899media@horizonnb.cahorizonnb.ca/news
