CEO Message on departure of Horizon Board Chair, John McGarry

Dear Staff, Physicians and Volunteers,

On behalf of Horizon’s Executive Leadership Team, I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the service John McGarry has given to Horizon, and his dedication to improving health care in New Brunswick.

For over 35 years John has worked tirelessly to address the many challenges our health care system is facing, both as CEO and Board Chair. He was never afraid to be vocal in advocating for policy changes, and it is for this reason that he garnered the respect of so many people he worked with.

As John leaves his position as Board Chair, a position he has held since 2019, his instrumental work will carry on through our new strategic plan and the strong patient/client and family centred care environment across Horizon.

As CEO, it has been a unique and rewarding experience to work alongside a Board Chair who was also my predecessor. John’s support and experience will be missed.
