With an annual budget of $1.4 billion, 14,000 staff, 1,242 physicians, many volunteers, 17 foundations and 16 auxiliary and alumnae organizations, Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is the largest regional health authority in New Brunswick and the second largest in Atlantic Canada. Committed to delivering quality and safe care in English and French to patients, clients and their families, Horizon operates 12 hospitals and more than 100 medical facilities, clinics, and offices throughout New Brunswick. With a collaborative team approach to offering services, Horizon delivers health care services to residents of New Brunswick, as well as northern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Horizon is dedicated to educating the health care leaders of tomorrow by training physicians, nurses and other health care professionals and is home to the Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick and Memorial University’s clerkship programs. Other collaborative education programs include the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board-accredited Horizon Pharmacy Residency Program, the Clinical Psychology Residency Program, The Moncton Hospital Post Graduate Dietetic Internship Program, and the Horizon School of Radiologic Technology (Saint John and Moncton).

The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is ultimately responsible for the general management of the organization. As the public face of Horizon, the CEO will play a significant and collaborative leadership role across the New Brunswick health system, with an opportunity to drive significant and lasting change. Reporting directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors with overall accountability to the Minister of Health, the CEO will work in collaboration with other key health system stakeholders, including the Department of Health, the Department of Social Development, Vitalité Health Network and Extra Mural/Ambulance New Brunswick Inc.

As the ideal candidate, you have senior management experience in a complex health care environment and an exemplary track record of driving results and partnership building with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. government, health care professionals, partner organizations in communities and the public at large). Open and transparent, with unquestionable personal and professional integrity, you are a bold and courageous leader with strategic vision, excellent skills in delegating authority with the ability to respond with tact and diplomacy at all times, and an exceptional catalyst for and champion of quality patient care. Educational credentials consistent with industry practice (Master’s degree or equivalent), experience working with and reporting to a board, and an appreciation for building and mentoring skilled teams, round out your skill set. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
